There are a lot of sites like Chatroulette. And they has also has this feature where you can narrow the chat partners by sex and location etc. But the numbers are a big fake! Most of them have the search options to limit the chat partners you get to talk to, but it must be a big fake. On one of that site I noticed something strandge... The categories are: sex, minimum age, maximum age, has image, last login, country, region, city, within. You can always leave everything total blank by saying you don’t care or similar. But already here something bizarre going on. The minimum age is 16 years, but the maximum age always starts at 1 no matter what minimum age you type in?? Real bad logical error there. A no-restrictions search says that 562 users are online which is a bit low anyhow. But then when you type in something specific like London and female and within 25 miles of London, you still have over 500 people in that search??!? It can’t be because, then I typed in Chad and some city there, and still there were over 500 people to chat to??? Well, I learned that over 500 plus over 500 makes something over 1000. Quit them, fake!!!
Hey there, Al_the_Man. I appreciate your honesty and the direct answer. But you are so out of touch with the web community. Youtube is one of the primary hit sites where people go looking for Chatroulette news. You can see a statistic from WebSatchecker here that shows next to Buzzfeed and Wikipedia, Youtube is the non-chat site where most people type in any Chatroulette-related searches. www.chatroulette.com is of course number one ahead of several other chat sites – though I still think that the website we’re currently blogging on also deserves a place there. But the main point is: Chatroulette is no longer just about you and the random stranger one on one. Too many people are doing it like crazy all over the world for it not to become an experience you record and share. If Youtube is about getting your content out there, then Chatroulette clips on youtube are about getting content out there and ALSO making people aware of the fact they’re sharing. This is about reaching out to others on so many different levels. Hooking on to Youtube to see the recordings is about getting into the next Chatroulette level.
I don’t know about all this guessing about what the guy showed for shock. Seems to me there’s a whole lot of people too busy looking at clips than actually chatting on Chatroulette Is it really the point of Chatroulette to fill Youtube and other clip sites up with photos or videos? So there are a lot of people do lots of funny things on Chatroulette, Omegle etc. And I really wouldn’t want to miss out on meeting guys (and girls) like that every time I hook on there. Especially not all the girls that I get to meet – never seem to get talking to a lot at my school. And I can sort of understand the motivation for putting the funny clips you made online if you’re the creative part of the video chat. Because after are, everybody wants to be in the show bizz. And have your friends see how super funny you are. But to spend such a lot of time just watching the clips of other people as the writer of yesterday’s blog (Chat Guessing…) is obviously doing? I think that’s a bit of a waste of time.
Chatroulette is about getting in touch with people you never saw before and know nothing about. But what if you turn up in that Chatroulette partner window? Somebody set up his Chatroulette webcam to work like a mirror for others in this video clip. So what they got to see is themselves as if they were talking to themselves in a mirror. This is just such a great idea!!! The first thing that one thinks if is that old fairytale line: Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all. That’s where the wicked queen from Snow White always reassured herself of her beauty, was told that she no longer was the fairest and also eventually found out that her stepdaughter wasn’t dead at all. So, looking into a mirror is always like looking for affirmation of yourself and sometimes it gets to show you the truth – and you don’t like it. So, does this mean Chatroulette may after all be just about looking for yourself in the wide world of the web??? More on this soon, same place.
Some of the artists doing their paintings in addition to chatting on Chatroulette seem to come right out of a Stone Age cave. And here is why: First of all, most people in Chatroulette do it form a comfortable small place. So that already looks like a cave you retreat to in order to enjoy a Chatroulette session. And for the painters like this one called Baggerman in his clip, even the lighting fits. It’s dim and you really can’t see very much at the back of the room. Even his face is covered in shadows. Well, and then of course there are the paintings themselves: Obviously he is trying to communicate by writing short text messages like: Say Hello. Or Youtube. But then he also draws things like cars or abstract shapes. Very into primitive art, this guy. I wonder if one day when all that survives of our civilization is the hard drive of this guy’s computer: will the aliens who discover it, think it is another Altamira? At the end of the clip the guy grows more insane and erratic. No wonder … cave man.
There are clips on Omegle and Chatroulette with a lot of hits, and you don’t really understand why: like this one about screaming girls. It’s not very long, and it is not very in focus, nothing much gets said apart from the girls screaming. And still: over 30000 people clicked on this, so there must be something. I do have to say that the girls here ARE cute. There’s no denying that the chick factor is very high. But wouldn’t you rather have a nice chat with them than make them scream. Well. We don’t know what really happened. I mean of the guy and the girls actually had a long Chatroulette session and talked either before or after they started torturing our ear drums. Well, whatever the Chatroulette guy had, why do so many Youtube users watch that clip? It must be about seeing girls like the type you know from school (who don’t give you the time of day) shocked and helpless in a way. It shows that those chicks are human, too.
Here is the Friday goodbye song for this week coming from Rebecca Black oon Chatroulette, it’s short but it’s sweet and funny. Rebecca West might want to think over her makeup choices, because that lipstick is pretty horrendous. Whoever taught girls that a greenish white is a good choice there? But anyway, we hope that you are getting ready to go into the weekend with your girlfriends or partner. Somewhere in a car going to a party or on a holiday in this really great warm day. It’s really not quite understandable why her Chatroulette partners there are just too serious. Maybe she taped it on a weekday and they were just too depressed that the weekend is still so far away or that it’s just over. Sometimes the Canadians are just more fun and the Americans. Here is a guy called brendaninabox who makes up a real seven-minute show staging an Omegle Q&A session. The fun thing about Omegle is that you can just text chat if you want to – as opposed to Chatroulette that is actually where Omegle started out. So, Brendan does taking questions on Omegle for a sport – and he does get some weird things asked. The question “What lands on its feet first if you tie a peanut butter sandwich to the back of a cat and throw both in the air? is a good example one bizarre piece of knowledge someone needed here. Counterquestion by Brendan, “Why waste a perfectly good sandwich? The cat”. Apart from bad jokes about mothers, lots of questions involving feces, there is also poetry and interest in biology is demonstrated (Do giraffes have tonsils?) among many other things. And he does the editing quite well – especially when asked to tell the one-word story.
The Twilight Saga is entering the final countdown and Christina Perri is there to sing us through it. So, as the vampire epic sweeps across the national cinemas, we her here on Chatroulette have to say something to Christina about stripes. If you have black and white hair: just don’t wear stripes! It looks awful. Here you can see where a black and white striped top lets you go right into the fashionista horror show. And to add on those glasses, well that’s may be courage to some but it’s catwalk suicide to us. Better listen to the wardrobe department of the film video clip crew: at least here Christina’s wearing full gown. Not exactly what I would pay for, but at least less like a Dalton Alcatraz twinset between her hair and her shirt. Not sure about the pearl studded comb and wedding dress of Bella either – looks a bit too stuffy Victorian for me. But well, vampires classics are from then, no? Anyway, listen ot the song as a simple duet here, like a perfect Chatroulette session talking one on one.
It is already a lot of fun talking to random strangers on Chatroulette but even more fun is when they invent themselves as a character you know about and have friends. That works on chat websites where you register as a user. On Wocchat there is a Mr Woc for example whose profile picture is a duck like Donald Duck. Who sort of gives out a lot of chat advice to his friends there. Which is funny because in most cartoons Disney Donald Duck is a bit stupid. In Donald’s Dilemma he gets hit on the head by a flower pot and turns into this super famous crooner and totally forgets about his true love Daisy switching her for crowds of fans. Her shrink asks her if she wants to take his celeb life from him and have him back for herself and she egoistically chooses to do just that (she is even better in the Spanish version, btw). So, it is sort of like choosing between a chat site like Chatroulette where you get to talk to a maximum of strangers vs. something like Wocchat where you put time and energy into helping your friends there is sort of like.
