Thanks for the blog yesterday on Ben the Comedian. I really think his videos on Youtube are great . But also check out this video clip where he plays a death eater – the henchmen of the bad guy Voldemort from for Harry Potter (for the three remaining people on this planet who have not read the books or seen the films). Tomorrow the last part of the film version is going to open all over. I’ll go and see it like I did most of the others. Mostly because I’m interested in seeing one of them in 3D. I’m going with a couple of girlfriends so it should be fun. Somewhere in the middle of the film I lost interest. Like many other people and only saw it in DVD. It has been going on for something like twenty years now if you count the books as well, no? Ben probably also grew up on it. Well, he’s doing real good work now. And on a lot smaller budget. And yes, even as a death eater his smile is cute…
There are a lot of people that you can hear complaining about the adult content on Chatroulette and similar chat sites. But who takes up the argument for the adults that are tired of seeing so many kids? And it is not that I want to show other people my dick and not worry about damaging a child for life. Or that I want to see only boobs or talk dirty. No, I would like to have a grown-up conversation when I am matched up with someone in a chat. Or at least, I would like the chance to meet an interesting adult once in a while. What I am tired of are kids like these two that undoubtedly have made a pointless, boring and offensive video that is way too long. SAVE ME from chat partners like this. Why aren’t they in bed reading some book that would give them a vocabulary a bit more elaborate than the miserable selection they spoke here. Or better, make that a book about good manners. Because they really need it. And no more kids like that in my chat!
Well these two guys might have to ask themselves if they have unresolved questions about their friendship. Why do they declare the song to be gay in their chatroulette clip posted on Youtube? The flowers actually look so good on the guys that even if they had not made reference to gay, one would think that these two guys must be rather close. And it makes sense to use it for chatting, because it has a lot of pull. The guy they are chatting to seems to like it a lot. Who knows what else he could and up agreeing to? There is another guy who did a kind of Numa Numa dance video some years ago to the Rumanian lyrics. His video is quite funny as well. He just makes you smile watching him. That video seems to have a large fan base. But I don’t quite get why the other two guys would think it’s a gay dance song? Anybody know about that?
There are clips on Youtube from Chatroulette people that show not every guy on the website is a jerk. And this one even manages to do it AND show some sexy girls as well. So, the guys seeing that girl flash her boobs at them pay attention, But then not even all of them are immediately reduced to slobbering idiots. One guy looks positively bored. That might come as a blow to female pride (because we thought no matter what: the promise of nudity would always make a guy like any one of us) but on the other hand it is proof to some intelligence left among men. So while first guy is grossed out by the switch to the fat woman, most of the guys laugh it off. So that’s good, because it means they can be ironic about themselves. And the belly dance of the first guy in the other sketch was funny too. But the face of the black guy is really really funny. His eyes popped and his moth went into a big :-O! The big bonus of the clip is that the girls are really pretty in it. Nice work!
Today and tomorrow it might be a great idea to stream the games of the Women’s World Cup on Chatroulette: somehow the FIFA has managed to have two games running simultaneously. And we would like to see ALL of them. So let’s get this set up in a Chatroulette chat, wouldn’t you agree? That way we can not only watch both of the games at the same time. But I can see were the doubters are going. NO, it’s not the same as watching them on two monitors. Setting the matches up as chat partners means, they would they teams would be communicating with each other. So while France is playing Germany, they could also follow the parallel game of on a screen in the stadium. That way they can watch the tactics of their future adversaries and maybe even get inspired for the match at hand. And should they play a boring game (because both teams already made it to the quarter finals), the audience could watch the match Canada – Nigeria. Sort of as an incentive for all to play good football. Because, apart from the stupidity of having parallel matches, this is the way to salvage bad FIFA scheduling and turn it into something brilliantly new.
Here are some Youtube videos from Chatroulette posted this month that we think you might enjoy watching. The “Tease of the Month” prize goes to this girl and the clip titled “Beautiful Norwegian Girl Shows Some Good Things” . Of course, you hit on the clip thinking you are going to see hot action. And when you see the pretty girl sitting there waiting you think this IS going to be hot. But all she does is sit there do a half-smile every now and then and that’s it. Well, as in the song Norwegian Wood: I once had a girl or should I say, she once had me… Then here are three young chatters entering the ring and promising a future of fun videos. These two girls show how much can be achieved with a bowl of popcorn, a Dr. Seuze Cat-Hat, a blue cape and face paint. And this guy talks a lot about himself, but then he is really cute. Which probably explains the numbers of hits he had… These two kids, on the other hand used Chatroulette to get exactly the opposite of what it was meant for: to try and get matched up with your best buddy for a Chatroulette sleepover. But the best video we think has been on was this guy doing an incredible Peacock dance video.
There is this guy in a penguin getup on Omegle who promises to play any song you want to on his keyboard. And he does actually manage it. Quite awesome. Remember those times when you would see a guy with a guitar or a fiddle on a street corner playing songs for money? If he was really good, people would stop and listen and there would be a circle formed. And then you could ask for songs and he would play them for you. In Ireland you could meet a guy who would recite poems for you at the drop of a hat. Now, you find that online with Penguin Pianist: a lot of people really liked his video on Youtube. And he is awesome good. Even when he does not know the songs: then he gets up and looks up a music video and plays it just by having heard it once. So don’t get confused about that footage in the middle. He’s just doing the research. It’s quite clear that the comments are mostly girls moaning why they only get the jerk-off guys and not somebody nice with a really nice talent for a change!
Something bizarre came up when I was flicking through Chatroulette joke videos the other night. There was this girl that seems to get her kicks out of picking her nose with somebody?! I thought, I’d watch the clip to see what the Spanish attitude on Chatroulette was. The clip isn’t really about trolling, unless you are a very tame low level type of troll guy. Wearing a mask, amigos is not really kicking up a fight in the web. Even if you picked the mask from the wiki article on trolling. Anyway, I was just about to switch off, when a girl comes up in the amigo chat window and she laughs her head off when the mask amigo takes up her suggestion to do joint nose picking. I know there are people who suck toes, or wobble their paunch or do tongue sticking and so on. But picking your nose together? What’s next? Chewing a steak and showing each other the half-chewed bits? Waxing your ears and sharing the blobs? Really guys (amigos and girls), get a life. And some better ideas for trolling and a shared joke. Especially when you put that on Youtube as a video.
And this red-haired pale-faced momma boy thought he was going to meet up with nice people. And there he goes on Chatroulette and sees to a killing. But no sweat, it’s a prank which you see when you watch the clip to the end. You can just see him having had dinner with mum and about to go to bed. But not sleepy yet, so he goes on to Chatroulette. To frenzied music even in synch with the increasing pace, the guy with the knife stabs his sketch partner over and over again. The kid first laughs because he thinks it’s funny. But when that music gets the guy hacking away in a frenzy shock shows. And it is really funny. First you also get a bit scared cause the two guys really matched up the action with the soundtrack. So good work guys! But when the kid has gone off chat and the stabbed guy gets up for a laugh, you laugh too. Too bad for the kid, if he had stuck it out, he could have laughed in the end as well. He should have learned the first lesson of Chatroulette: you have to hang in there to get the hang of it.
It’s official: Chatroulette is becoming an art form. For one, there are already gazillions of video on Youtube, where people not just upload the recordings. Some of you guys really put in a hell of a lot of work into your clips there. But now, Chatroulette is also inspiring bands. And I’m not only talking about the Ode to Merton clips by Ben Fold here (which are great, by the way). Two examples where bands actually write a song ABOUT Chatroulette are a French combo in their studio clip and then there is also the band revert with their open-air performance clip. It is really great to see a thing like Chatroulette not only go viral with thousands of people on chat every day, but seeing it make things happen in other areas. It’s just inspirational this thing. I really think one should get together and do some sort of simultaneous live event where everybody logs an to jam and watch and just chill out with the Chatroulette crowd. Let’s hope they manage to programme that sort of thing for 2012 – at the latest.
